Eligibility Requirements for Application to the Master’s Program

Either of the following requirements qualifies you to apply

(1) Those who have graduated or are expected to graduate University in Japan by September 21, 2016.
(2) Those who have received or are expected to receive a Bachelor’s Degree from the National Institution for Academic Degrees and University Evaluation by September 21, 2016.
(3) Those who have completed or will complete a minimum of 16 years of academic education overseas.
(4) Those who have completed or are expected to complete a minimum of 4 years of specialized course at a specialized training college in Japan that meets the standards and is designated by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology in separate regulations by September 21, 2016. Only those who have completed or are expected to complete such courses after the date the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology designates are eligible.
(5) Those designated by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology
(6) Those who have completed 15 years of academic education overseas, and are recognized by Keio University to have achieved excellent results in particular subjects.
(7) Those recognized by Keio University as equivalent to having the qualifications listed in (1)-(6) above.

※Those who fall under eligibility requirement items (6) or (7) for the Master’s Program must undergo “Applicant Eligibility Certification” screening. For details, click here.

<IMPORTANT>The Master's programs in the Graduate School of Economics can be completed solely in English. Note, however, that there are only a limited number of courses available in English, and desired courses or guidance may be in Japanese. Applicants who wish to apply to the Graduate School of Economics for a degree based only on courses offered in English should contact a faculty member of the Graduate School of Economics before beginning the application process to arrange and confirm the availability of a research advisor who can supervise them only in English.

Payment of Application Fee

 Every applicant must pay the application fee at a convenience store inside Japan. Before payment, you must register your payment information (e.g., the graduate school you are applying for, your chosen type of admission, etc.) on e-payment site “e-shiharai.net” (Japanese only) and receive a registration number.
